Giving You Peace Of Mind

Mold Remediation

Our team at Gray's Environmental & Construction performs mold testing and remediation for both residential and commercial clients. We take pride in our expertise in this field which allows us to offer quality work at an affordable cost.

Mold Testing & Inspection

When we come in to do mold testing, our main goal is to identify where the moisture came from that caused the mold growth. Often times mold growth is caused by humidity, not a water leak. In order to prevent the growth of mold, try to keep humidity levels between 30% and 50%.

We can provide a mold inspection/ assessment and provide recommendations at a low cost to our clients. An air sample collection may also be recommended, however that is based on a case by case scenario.

If you have a mold problem, we encourage you to contact us and schedule an inspection today.

Mold Remediation Procedure

Mold scenarios are different on a case by case basis and they require solutions unique to the scenario, however the overall mold remediation process stays the same. The steps below show how our "typical" process goes:

1. Contact us - (518) 265-0536

The remediation procedure begins with your call to us. A representative will ask a series of questions that will help determine the proper equipment and resources we need for your case.

2. Inspection and Testing

We carefully inspect the area where the mold is present. Mold feeds on cellulose and water and can be hidden from plain view. We then do testing and assessments.

3. Mold Containment

We use containment procedures to help prevent the mold from spreading. We isolate the contaminated area with physical barriers and negative air pressure. All fans and heating and cooling systems will be turned off

4. Air Filtration

We use HEPA vacuums to prevent the spread of mold spores while the mold remediation is in process.

5. Removing Mold and Mold-Infested Materials
We will use antifungal and antimicrobial treatments in order to eliminate mold colonies and help to prevent new ones from developing. We may have to remove and dispose of mold-infested porous materials like drywall and carpeting.

6. Restoration

Depending on the amount of mold damage, drywall, subfloors and other building materials may have needed to be removed. Restoration may involve minor repairs like replacing drywall or installing new carpet. It may involve major repairs such as reconstructing various area or rooms in a residence or business.
